Gator Engineering at State College of Florida is the way to go! Going in, I was worried I would be at a disadvantage or be behind if I spent time at SCF instead of directly going to a University, and I can now say I’m at an advantage because of this program. The same classes that are taught at UF are taught with precision at SCF. Smaller class sizes at SCF mean a more personal learning experience. The community takes a lot of pride in this program which greatly benefits students when they apply for internships or jobs. The support provided by SCF, UF, and the surrounding people in this program is what really stands out to me. This program provides the opportunity, an easy transition into UF, and a fantastic education at a cost-effective rate.

The transition from high school to the Gator Engineering at State College of Florida was easy and smooth for me and my family. Being able to stay local at SCF while still being a Gator Engineer at UF is an amazing opportunity that I’m glad I was given. I have saved so much money on room and board, as well as food. Not to mention that classes are less expensive as well. Although this program with SCF and UF is still relatively new, administrators and teachers are always there to help you out. With the class sizes ranging from 10-30 students, it’s easy to meet with teachers and focus in class. In the summer after my first year at SCF I got an internship with DTC, and engineering consulting firm, through the UF Innovation Station and that has now turned into a part-time job. This program is amazing and unique, due to the fact that not many universities offer an opportunity quite like what the University of Florida is offering.
