Title:
HYPATH: a General Mechanistic Model to Simulate Site-Specific Introduction, Survival, and Dispersal of Pathogens on Leafy Greens
Bio:
Dr. Kalindhi Larios is a post-doctoral associate working under Dr. Rafael Muñoz-Carpena in the Department of Agriculture and Biological Engineering at the University of Florida. She is a proud triple Gator! She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Interdisciplinary Ecology, respectively, and a Ph.D. in Soil and Water Sciences. Dr. Larios’ research focuses on water quality in freshwater systems within agricultural catchments. Her dissertation focused on mechanistically modeling phosphorus biogeochemistry in the Everglades Stormwater Treatment Areas. While her current work consists of modeling the transfer of microbes in soil, water, and crops at the farm scale and the risk of food-borne contamination in specialty crops at harvest.
