Porras Receives NSF Career Award

Ana Maria Porras, Ph.D., assistant professor in the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida, has received the Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Farahmandi Receives NSF CAREER Award

Yangbin Wang Rising Star Endowed Assistant Professor Farimah Farahmandi has received an NSF CAREER award in support of her project “SAIF: Security Assurance through AI and Formal Approaches for System-on-Chips.”

Pan earns National Science Foundation’s CAREER Award and grant

Dr. Jing Pan, a UF MAE professor, won a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation last month. This honor is the most prestigious award granted by the NSF, and comes with a federal research grant.

Two ECE faculty members elevated to IEEE Fellow

Two ECE Florida faculty members, Dr. Swarup Bhunia and Dr. Volker Sorger, have been elevated to the rank of life fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of the prestigious grade elevation.

ESSIE’s undergraduate programs land in USNWR top 15

For the fifth year in a row, the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment’s (ESSIE) undergraduate programs have been ranked in the top 20 among public universities, according to the 2024 U.S. News & World Report. Both programs placed in the top 15 in their respective areas, with the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering at No. 12 and the Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences at No. 10.
