Bio:
Juan Manuel Restrepo-Flórez is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida. His research integrates process systems engineering, optimization, and materials design to advance sustainable energy and separation technologies, with particular emphasis on biofuels, biorefineries, and metamaterial-based membranes. He earned his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech, completed postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering (summa cum laude) from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Dr. Restrepo-Flórez has published extensively in leading journals and it is actively engaged in outreach initiatives.
