What is Physical AI?

Unlike AI systems that operate primarily in digital environments, Physical AI extends artificial intelligence beyond software models into embodied systems that interact with dynamic physical environments.

These systems must account for the laws of physics, mechanical actuation, sensor dynamics, power constraints, real-time computation, and unpredictable physical conditions.

At the Florida Physical AI Initiative, this work spans three interconnected areas: foundational theory and controls, technologies and computing architectures, and real-world applications and domain deployments.
