Biography
Before joining UF, Dr. Turpeinen spent his career in the biotechnology and medical device industry, where he led multidisciplinary research and development programs focused on vaccine development and manufacturing, regenerative biomaterials and medical device commercialization.
Dr. Turpeinen brings extensive industrial experience into the classroom, connecting fundamental chemical engineering principles with real-world engineering practice. His teaching philosophy emphasizes active learning, critical thinking, collaborative problem solving and preparing students to become innovative engineers capable of translating ideas into technologies that improve society.
