AI Workforce Needs Assessment

The University of Florida’s Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is seeking industry insight on AI workforce needs to help in the development of statewide K12 AI education program. The purpose of this research study is to understand the needs of the industry as it pertains to AI. Feedback from the industry will help define the skills, competencies, and capabilities needed to develop the AI-enabled workforce of the future.

Carlson Presented With Clyde Nixon Business Leadership Award

During its post-election Economic Outlook event on December 4, the Economic Development Council of Sarasota presented the 14th Annual Clyde Nixon Business Leadership Award to Allen Carlson, the regional director of the University of Florida Innovation Station in Sarasota.

Research Scientist Dr. Read Hayes joins FLEX. Dr. Hayes will work closely with engineering and computer science faculty across the college helping integrate human-centered design with software and hardware developments. Dr. Hayes has over 30 years’ of hands-on law enforcement, retailing, and research-based crime control experience in the US and over 20 countries.
