Title:
Nitrogen-Smart Crops for Tackling the Nitrous Oxide and Water Quality Problems Due to Agriculture

Bio:
Dr. Rajan is a professor of crop physiology and agroecology in the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Department of Soil and Crop Sciences. She earned her bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Kerala Agricultural University, a master’s degree in soil science from A.N.G.R. Agricultural University in India, and her doctoral degree in agronomy from Texas Tech University. Her lab performs basic and applied research into developing climate-smart agricultural management practices that help increase agricultural systems’ resilience, profitability, sustainability and security. She was recently named the director of the Center for Greenhouse Gas Management in Agriculture and Forestry.
