Alumni Reunion Tailgate—Every year the College hosts a tailgate reunion on the North Lawn of the Reitz Union prior to a home football game. Join our students and faculty as we showcase some of the exciting things happening at Gator Engineering, including some of our competition pieces such as the Subjugator, Instigator, SwampSat and much more. Dean’s Receptions—Several times throughout the year, the college hosts Dean’s receptions around the country to reunite fellow Gator Engineers in the area. All departments and years are invited to attend. Watch your inbox or mailbox for a reception in your area. Update your contact information
Silver Society—This annual event celebrates the 25th anniversary of graduation from the University of Florida. Activities take place after the Orange & Blue scrimmage in April. For more information on Silver Society, visit the Alumni Association website.
Grand Guard—Every fall, the Alumni Association takes alumni back in time to their graduation from UF, 50 years in the making. Events begin on Thursday with an evening reception, enjoy campus activities and lunch on Friday with other Gator Engineering graduates and cheer on the Gators, Saturday in The Swamp. Lecture Series—Several lectures take place over the course of year on topics ranging from leadership, to research, as well as engineering career paths.
- Robert Tyrie Benton Memorial Lecture—established in 1948 by Mrs. John Robert Benton (Mabelle Williams Benton) in honor of her son, Robert Tyrie Benton. Mrs. Benton is the widow of John Benton, who was Dean of the College of Engineering from 1910 through 1930. The Benton lectureship is utilized to bring in speakers of national and international prominence within the field of engineering to speak to students of the College.
- Weil Lecture Series—named for former college Dean Joseph Weil, this series features some of the world’s most respected and distinguished CEO’s, entrepreneurs and leaders. Each lecture is designed as an opportunity for students and faculty to learn first-hand from the industry’s most influential and successful leaders
- Ohanian Lectures Series Endowment—Dr. Jack and Sandy Ohanian created this lecture series to provide for two nationally and/or internationally prominent experts per year to give lectures in key technical areas to enhance the knowledge-base of engineering faculty and students.
Orange & Blue Game—Two hours prior to the kick-off of the Orange and Blue game, enjoy a large Gator Nation tailgate on the North Lawn of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium complete with music, games and activities for all ages.
