NanoDay 2025

NanoDay 2025

National Nanotechnology Day (NanoDay) is an annual event across the nation that

  • celebrates nanoscale science, engineering, and technology,
  • recognizes researchers advancing each of these fields,
  • applauds innovators translating nanoscale research into valuable products / services,
  • increases awareness of the potential for nanoscale research to positively impact lives.

The research presented at NanoDay typically includes the following wide range of topics (and beyond):

The Nanoscale Research Facility (NRF) will host the NanoDay Open House (map) that features:

  • NRF Lab Tours
  • Meet NRF Engineers
  • Instrumentation Demonstrations/Webinars
  • Nanoscale Image Contest.

NIMET will host the NanoDay Research Symposium in the Reitz Union Chamber Room, which will include the following activities:

  • Keynote and Student Presentations
  • Nanotech Industry Panel
  • Poster Session and Best-Poster Awards
  • Alumni Awards and Group Photo

Submit a Poster (by Sept 25):

We encourage all UF students, postdocs, fellows, and faculty engaged in research at the nanoscale to contribute to the technical program. To participate in the NanoDay poster session and (if desired) be considered for a student presentation slot, we ask that you submit a poster using this formWe request that posters be vertically oriented and sized to fit on our 40″ x 30″ posterboards. We also provide an optional template for students to use. Additional guidelines for the poster session and getting your poster printed are available.

Apply for a Student Talk (by Sept 25):

We also encourage any UF student or postdoc that would like to give a talk to apply for one of slots by filling out this form.

Register (by Oct 1):

To participate in the NanoDay events, we ask that everyone complete a free registration form. Doing so helps us to plan for food and other items that will make for a more successful event.

Image Contest (by Oct 3):

We look forward to seeing many of you at this great annual event and hope you will encourage your peers and colleagues to participate in this celebration of UF nanoscale science, engineering, and technology research activities and resources.

Co-Sponsor of NanoDay 2025:

This year NanoDay will be co-sponsored by the Florida Semiconductor Institute (FSI), which serves as a statewide hub for research, development, innovation, and workforce initiatives focused on cutting-edge semiconductor technologies. FSI expertise spans emerging materials, chip design, process development, microsystems, heterogeneous integration, advanced packaging, and cybersecurity.
