About

The mission of the Development Office is to support the goals of the College of Engineering—to be an outstanding College of Engineering, ranked among the very best engineering colleges in the U.S., recognized as a world leader in engineering education, research and service.

Raising funds to meet these goals is the most important part of the Development Office's mission. Although the Florida legislature appropriates funds for the University of Florida, in fact only 34 cents of every dollar needed for engineering programs comes from the state. The college depends for the rest on gifts, donations, and grants. We have always exceeded our fundraising goals in the past, with the help of our alumni and friends, and are confident we will do so again this year.

Investment opportunities for our alumni, friends and industrial partners include endowed and named professorships, endowed graduate fellowships, faculty lecture series, and in-kind equipment gifts in addition to various capital improvements in the college. Our development team is ready to assist with any questions about gifts to the College of Engineering.

Please consider unrestricted funds allowing Florida Engineering the flexibility to meet pressing needs as they arise. The College of Engineering must turn to its alumni and friends to address day-to-day needs including facilities renovation, equipment maintenance, and discretionary funds for the departments.
