Chris Malachowsky

Chris Malachowsky graduated with his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1980 and received his M.S. from Santa Clara University in 1986. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from both universities—Santa Clara University in 2008, and the University of Florida Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering in 2017. In 1993, Malachowsky established NVIDIA, a California-based technology that continues to make significant contributions to the data science and information technology industries. Malachowsky was inducted into the University of Florida Academy of Golden Gators in 2022. The artificial intelligence partnership UF has with NVIDIA inspired and funded the development of Malachowsky Hall, an almost futuristic academic building located in the heart of UF’s main campus that will connect students and researchers from across disciplines and create a hub for advances in computing, communication, and cyber-technologies. He is a leading force behind the University of Florida’s ambitious initiative to become “America’s A.I. University.”
