K12 Gator Outreach Initiative
The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering K12 initiative serves to support and promote the success of the Florida Engineering Experiment Station (FLEX) and to increase the diversity of tomorrow’s technology leaders by promoting the success of pre-collegiate institutions and their students across the state. K12 programming will serve to accomplish the following goals:
- Promote pathways for self-exploration and awareness of STEM fields and career options,
- Mobilize university and community resources in efforts to promote the success of pre-collegiate students inside and outside of the classroom; and,
- Provide a nexus of experiential learning activities and training opportunities targeting pre-collegiate teachers, guidance/career counselors and students in efforts to enhance their technical skills required for academic and professional success.
