Application Period: March 1, 2024, to June 3, 2024, or until filled. Students admitted for Summer B & Fall 2024 are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Demonstrated academic excellence and interest in engineering.
- Must be an incoming first-year student, admitted and attendance confirmed at the University of Florida by June 26, 2024.
- Ability to fully engage and attend all summer classes, program activities, etc.
Application Requirements:
- Complete the application form, including a resume and a one-page cover letter outlining why you are a strong candidate and your top three goals for the program. If uploading difficulties occur, email documents to srobe@eng.ufl.edu.
- High school transcripts (unofficial accepted).
- Two recommendations (either from two teachers or one teacher and one guidance counselor).
To apply:
- Please complete the online application. The application page will require your student Gatorlink email, then your Gatorlink ID and password to gain access to the application form.
- Please have two of your teachers (preferably a math/science teacher or guidance counselor) complete the student recommendations by providing their contact information in the Bridge application form.
Important Information:
- Innovation Academy and UF PROMISE participants need program approval to join STEPUP.
- All STEPUP participants must attend a summer Preview Orientation session before participating in STEPUP.
- Expect email confirmation within 5-10 minutes post-application.
- Application status updates are typically sent within 3-4 weeks after receiving all documents and references.
**For 2024 Summer B Admits**
Continue with UF Preview, class registration, housing, and meal plans as usual. If accepted into STEPUP, the STAR office will assist with necessary cancellations and adjustments.
